SFPD Says It Has Busted “Chuck Taylor Bandit”

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 39-year old San Francisco man is now facing numerous bank robbery charges after a stick-up Tuesday on Irving street.

A teller at a bank at Irving and 19th Avenue say a man handed her a note demanding money. She gave it to him and he ran out of the business in a car.

Police say the suspect description was similar to several other robberies involving the so-called “Chuck Taylor Bandit.”

Patrol officers then spent the rest of the day looking for the robber using a surveillance picture captured during the stick-up. They eventuallyu located the car and took Daniel King into custody. He’s since been charged with seven other robberies.

Authorities are not yet releasing King’s picture as they try to get identifications in more crimes.
