VIDEO: Lucas Valley Road Remains Closed After Trees Knock Down Power Lines

SAN RAFAEL (KRON) — Lucas Valley Road may remain closed in Marin County until Friday morning because of a large tree that has fallen across the roadway knocking down power lines.

High winds and saturated soil combined to bring down the large tree on Lucas Valley Road not far from Skywalker Ranch.

Power remains out for about five dozen people who live in the area. Many residents are having to take a 45 minute detour to get to Highway 101.

PG&E and Marin County crews are working to remove the large trees. The utility workers will move in to restore the power and re-open the roadway. That could take into the early morning hours on Friday, authorities say.
