SAN LEANDRO (KRON) — Police are looking for as many as two people responsible for shooting a man in the parking lot of the Bay Fair BART station.
The shooting happened at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday in the West lot at the station. Authorities say the victim was shot at least twice in the upper body. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now reportedly stable.
Witnesses tell BART police there were at least two shooters. Investigators say two-to-three shots were fired.
It remains unclear where the confrontation started. Robbery has not been ruled out as a motive.
BART train service wasn’t impacted by the shooting but police may remain in the Bay Fair station west parking lot collecting evidence into the morning commute.
