$3 Million Arrest Warrant Issued For Carmel Jewelry Robber

CARMEL (KRON) — Monterey County Police say a 51-year-old man is wanted on a $3 million dollar arrest warrant for a 2013 armed robbery at a Carmel jewelry store.

The warrant for James Kevin Johnson, of Los Angeles, was set on Tuesday with a bail set at $3 million.

Johnson is wanted for robbing Hesselbeins Jewelers at 143 Crossroads Shopping Center on Feb. 8, 2013.

According to police Johnson walked into the store with a handgun and stole Rolex watches before fleeing.

Johnson is currently in the San Luis Obispo County Jail where he was booked on suspicion of drug trafficking in an unrelated case.
