BURLINGAME (KRON) — A Caltrain train has struck an unoccupied car on the tracks in Burlingame in the middle of the Thursday evening commute.
Caltrain officials say train number 376 hit the car on the southbound track at Broadway. Officials say they are single-tracking trains through the area but there are major delays throughout the system.
Investigators say the driver took a wrong turn onto the track but both the driver and the passenger were able to get away before the train approached.
Because the car was empty, no one was hurt. There are no reports of injuries involving passengers or crew on board the train.
