VIDEO: Rental Truck Backs Into S.F. Patagonia Store in Dramatic Smash-and Grab Burglary

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco police are looking for two people and the large rental truck they used to smash through the front windows of the Patagonia store on North Point as part of a smash and grab burglary.

Investigators are now going through the physical evidence at the store on North Point between Hyde and Columbus. That’s about a block from Ghirardelli Square.

Police say the thieves backed the large truck through the store’s front windows and got away with an unknown amount of merchandise.

Patrol officers say they saw two people get into the truck and speed away but the vehicle was long gone by the time the officers got to the store.

Detectives are hoping there’s surveillance video to show the entire sequence of events.
