REDWOOD CITY — A 40-year-old man convicted of 40 counts of child molestation could spend the rest of his life in prison.
La Honda resident Neil Aunko was convicted of repeatedly molesting his 10-year-old stepdaughter.
Officials say that on four separate occasions when a friend stayed over, Aunko entered the room and “humped” the girl over her pajamas.
“His conduct was at the far end of the continuum of child molestation in terms of its’ egregious nature,” deputy district attorney Karen Guidotti said. “He should never again be in a position where he can touch another child.”
Aunko is facing multiple life sentences, and is currently in custody on no-bail status. His sentencing has been scheduled for 9 a.m. March 10.
