YORK COUNTY, South Carolina (KRON) — At first Francis Greene was sure it was God talking to her but later figured the message really came from space aliens. Either way, the instruction was the same. Go to an amusement park.
Now Greene is facing felony charges for allegedly leaving her eight-month old baby alone in a truck at the Carowinds amusement park parking lot a week ago to go inside and follow the commands she thought she was receiving.
A security guard reportedly found the infant alone and crying in the vehicle.
“The voices that she thought were God, were actually extra-terrestrials, and that they wanted her to leave her body behind and come with them,” deputies said Greene told them. “Greene said that she decided against that because she wanted to stay with her family.”
The child is now in protective custody. Greene is charged with unlawful neglect of a child and trespassing. Her boyfriend, Jason Lee, is also facing the same charges.
