CHICAGO (KRON) — The baseball world is mourning the loss of “Mr. Cub”, Ernie Banks.
Several news organizations report Banks died Friday at a Chicago hospital at the age of 83.
Banks spent his entire 19-season career with the Cubs. His enthusiasm for the game was explemphied in his famous quip, “Let’s play two.”
Although the Cubs never won a championship, Banks was an eleven-time all-star and twice the National league MVP.
