SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Julia Roberts is now confirmed as the producer and star of a feature length movie about “Batkid.”
Roberts has acquired the rights to adapt the documentary film “Batkid Begins” into a full motion picture.
It was November 15, 2013 when five-year old leukemia patient Miles Scott became “Batkid” and saved San Francisco aka Gotham from a variety of threats.
Millions of people followed along on social media as “Batkid” traveled from spot to spot through the city taking on the famous villains from the Batman series.
Dana Nachman who made the documentary about Miles will be an executive producer on the Roberts version of the event.
The documentary debuts this week at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
