VIDEO: CHP Cruiser Catches Fire, Closes Treasure Island Off-Ramp On Bay Bridge

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Treasure Island off-ramp on the Bay Bridge has been shut down after a California Highway Patrol cruiser caught fire on Monday night, officials said.

The CHP Officer was driving eastbound on the Bay Bridge at around around 7:30 p.m. when they noticed smoking coming from the back of the vehicle.

A responding CHP officer was hospitalized with minor injuries after they were struck by debris while trying to put out the fire.

A Sig-alert was issued at 7:41 p.m. and there is no estimated time of when the ramp will reopen, according to the CHP.
