OAKLAND (KRON) — Several arrests have been made in regards to a sideshow in Oakland on Saturday January 31st.
Police say CHP units were notified of a sideshow around 1 a.m. happening on International Boulevard near 54th Avenue. A red Ford Mustang was later spotted heading towards I-880.
Following a pursuit the Ford exited on 7th Street near the port of Oakland. While attempting to enter SB I-880 the Ford spun out of control.
Police were able to arrest 26-year-old Wais Sakhizada of Fremont. He was booked on felony evading, Resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and outstanding warrants.
During the same pursuit two other vehicles were spotted by officers. A black Audi A6 and a white Chevy S-10.
Both drivers of those vehicles were also arrested. They have been identified as 21-year-old Paiman Nasiri of Tracy and Howard Schroyer of Castro Valley.
Two hours later three other vehicles were spotted racing, a black Chevy Camaro was racing a Mustang and a Corvette at 108 MPH on I-80 E/B near Powell Street. Officers were able to stop the driver of the Camaro and cited 20-year-old Jose Huerta-Lara for participating in a speed contest, driving on a suspended license and various other traffic offenses.
