VIDEO: Bay Area Prepares For Major Storm

Marin Co. (KRON) — Residents and County Officials are preparing for the first winter storm in the Bay Area.

Heavy wind-driven rain is expected to soak the region on Thursday and continue into the weekend, KRON 4 meteorologist Vanessa Bezic said.

This month has been the second driest January ever in Marin County, but that is expected to change.

Up to 7 inches of rain is expected to fall in the North Bay, while parts of the Bay may get up to 4 inches.

Sandbag locations have been popping up around the North Bay for residents to prepare for the rain.

Marin county officials say they are preparing for the worst and have been clearing storm drains and trimming trees near power lines.
