OAKLAND (KRON) — While many couples dined at exclusive restaurants and dawned their partners with roses and chocolates, others chose a different way to express their love on Valentine’s Day.
The unconventional, yet perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day was going to the Oracle Arena to enjoy a party-filled, yet romantic evening with Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias. It was just this past October that the pair of heartthrobs had a sold out show at the SAP Center in San Jose, and yet they came to a packed house at the Oakland venue.
The evening kicked off with Colombian urban-artist J Balvin, and while the venue was not to capacity when he took the stage, he received quite a positive response from the crowd. Some who might have never heard of him, and actual fans who were singing along to each song he performed.
Unlike the show at the SAP Center, it was Enrique Iglesias who took the stage first; the screams could be heard all around the Oracle. It did not matter if the women in attendance came with a significant other, the sight of Enrique Iglesias made them all scream till their lungs collapsed. Enrique’s setlist of over ten songs reflected his now twenty years in the music industry. He even delighted the fans with a song from his first album (“Nunca Te Olvidare” I Will Never Forget You.) He told the crowd that it was one of the first songs he ever wrote and that it holds a special place in his heart.
Enrique Iglesias’ set of almost two hours, proved what a fantastic superstar he truly is. His voice and stage presence is not that of a young kid from Miami, but that of an International superstar who has years of success ahead of him.
Pitbull’s performance was equally impressive, the freestyler Cuban kid is gone, and Mr. Wolrdwide has taken over. He dominates while on stage, and the gorgeous dancers that accompany him were the icing on the cake. His set-list included early hits, and the songs where he collaborated with multiple Grammy-winning artists such as Marc Anthony, Christina Aguilera, and so many others. He was grateful to the fans and took the time to thank them for all the support throughout the years.
The fans that chose the Sex And Love tour as the Valentine’s Day plan were treated to five hours of non-stop dancing with two of the best Latin International superstars.
