Man, Woman Arrested At Walnut Creek Motel For Allegedly Making Fake Credit Cards

WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — Two Castro Valley residents where arrested during a probation search on Saturday after officers discovered equipment used to make fake credit cards, police said.

Around 8:30 a.m., police conducted a probation search at Motel 6, located on N. Main St., about a mile from the Walnut Creek Police Department.

According to police, the man and woman were found in possession of blank and altered credit cards, embossing and encoding machines, laptop computers and paperwork containing the personal identification information of numerous potential victims.

Jessica Shaw, 24, and Kent Gary, 25, were arrested on suspicion of five felony charges related to identity theft and credit card fraud.

“Luckily it appeared that Shaw and Gary were arrested before they were able to use the information locally to make fraudulent purchases,” police officials said.
