SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Caltrain train Monday night in San Francisco.
The agency said that an out-of-service southbound train struck the victim in one of the tunnels just outside of the city at around 9:30 p.m.
The agency had previously reported it was a northbound train.
There are no reports of injuries on board the train.
“BART will continue to provide mutual aid for passengers wishing to transfer at Millbrae to continue north into the city,” Caltrain officials said.
Hours earlier, a female driver was killed after a Caltrain struck her vehicle on the tracks in Menlo Park. The incident was reported by Caltrain just before 5 p.m. when southbound train No. 360 struck a vehicle at Ravenswood Avenue.
