OAKLAND (KRON) — A bicyclist was killed following a collision with a vehicle in East Oakland on Tuesday, a police spokeswoman said.
Police officers responded to a call of an accident between a vehicle and bicycle near Prune and San Leandro streets just after 4:30 p.m., Oakland police Officer Johnna Watson said.
Arriving officers found the injured bicyclist, a female believed to be in her 30s or 40s, with injuries. She was pronounced dead by emergency crews at the scene, Watson said.
The driver of the car, described as a man in his 50s, stayed at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, she said.
The incident remains under investigation.
