WOODLAND, Calif. (AP) – Police statewide are looking for a 2-week-old baby boy who went missing near Sacramento.
Woodland Police Capt. Dale Johnson says the search Wednesday morning for Justice Rees is focused around Knight’s Landing, which is in Yolo County, along the Sacramento River.
KNTV reports (http://bit.ly/1LGUVn2) that the baby’s 23-year-old mother, Samantha Green, was also considered missing for a time, but turned up late Tuesday afternoon. Police say it’s not clear where she was, but she is safe.
Marin County Sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman says search-and-rescue crews in his area are assisting with the search.
Pittman says the Yolo County Sheriff asked the California Office of Emergency Services for help, and authorities in Contra Costa, Alameda, Sonoma and Napa counties were also asked to assist and send search dogs. A computer bulletin has also been sent to every police agency in California.
