Driver Killed In Menlo Park Caltrain Crash Identified As Palo Alto Resident

PALO ALTO (KRON) — A female driver who was killed after a Caltrain struck her SUV as it sat trapped on the railroad tracks near the Menlo Park station has been identified as Jahyun Jennifer Koo, 35, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.

The Palo Alto resident was struck by a Caltrain train just before 5 p.m. at Ravenswood Avenue on Monday.

Koo was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Her SUV was thrown about 40 feet across the intersection. Koo was extricated from the SUV and was taken to Stanford Hospital where she died, officials said.

Officials are still investigating how her car came to rest on the tracks.
