Shelter In Place Issued As Officers Investigate Suspicious Package In San Francisco’s Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco police are investigating are suspicious package found in the city’s Mission District on Friday night.

Officers responded to 23rd and Bartlett streets at about 8 p.m. and located a package with pipes and wires. A bomb squad has been called in and residents were ordered to shelter in place until the incident is resolved, police said.

Police have set a perimeter surrounding the area and several streets have been closed.

Officials are advising motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes due to street closures in the area.
