SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The bicyclist that was hit by a car Monday afternoon in the Mission district has been identified as 66-year-old Charles Vinson of San Francisco.
Vinson died at the hospital after being hit by a car.
Officer Grace Gatpandan said the collision occured at the intersection of 14th and Folsom streets, at 12:35 p.m.
Gatpandan said the bicyclist was bleeding when emergency crews arrived and that the four-door sedan involved in the collision remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.
One eye-witness claims they saw the driver run a red-light.
The victim was wearing a helmet, but still suffered major head trauma and required CPR at the scene of the accident.
