Brakes Lock Up, Fire Destroys Motor Home

PITTSBURG (BCN) — Fire crews extinguished a fire inside a motor home Sunday afternoon in Pittsburg, a fire official said.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Bob Atlas said fire crews responded at 1:52 p.m. to a fire at Sierra RV and Boat Storage, located at 1600 Buchanan Road.

Atlas said the late-model motor home was inside the parking lot when the brakes locked up and the vehicle caught on fire.

The fire started in the rear of the vehicle, where the engine is located. Atlas said the motor home was “totally destroyed.” Nobody was inside the motor home, except for the driver, who was not injured, Atlas said.
