SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The 5-year-old girl hit Wednesday while walking in a crosswalk by Stonestown Galleria is still hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The young girl was crossing Buckingham Way at 20th Avenue with her 45-year-old mother when they were hit by an SUV heading south on 20th St.
The mother and daughter were both taken to the hospital.
The mother was released soon after, but the daughter remains hospitalized.
While her injuries are classified as life-threatening, because of her age, she is expected to recover quickly.
The 86-year-old driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police have not announced if any citations will be issued.
