Procession route set for slain San Jose Police Officer Michael Johnson

SAN JOSE (KRON) — Details for the memorial of slain San Jose Police Officer Michael Johnson have been released including the procession route which is expected to impact traffic in the South Bay.

The procession will pass through Los Gatos, Campbell and San Jose this Thursday before ending at the SAP Center, according to police.

The California Highway Patrol will be coordinating the procession road closures in conjunction with the San Jose Police Department. We encourage the public to use public transportation to ease congestion in and out of the area.

MAYOR SAM LICCARDO RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING: “We continue to mourn the loss of Officer Michael Johnson, and the thoughts and prayers of an entire city remain with his family, fellow officers, and friends.”

Procession Ingress Route Leaving Los Gatos at 10:00am

> Northbound N Santa Cruz Ave turns into Winchester Blvd

> Continue northbound Winchester Blvd

> Winchester Blvd to Stevens Creek Blvd eastbound

> Stevens Creek Blvd turns into W San Carlos St

> W San Carlos St to S Montgomery St northbound

> S Montgomery St turns into N Autumn St

> Continue northbound on N Autumn Ave to the SAP Center

Procession Egress Route Leaving SAP Center at 1:00pm

> S Market St turns into S 1st St
