SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A 23-year-old man was arrested on hit-and-run and drug charges after he crashed his car into a Santa Rosa house Tuesday morning.
Around 4 a.m., police were called to a house in the area of Sacramento Avenue and Calavaras Drive in southeast Santa Rosa when a Dodge truck crashed into the house and caused major damage to the house.
An 11-year-old boy was also injured in the accident.
The force of the impact knocked him across his bedroom.
The young boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck ran off before police arrived, but police were able to determine that the driver, Timothy Charles Bendana, lived nearby.
When police got to Bendana’s Santa Rosa house, they found an active clandestine hash lab as well as evidence of marijuana sales.
Police learned Bendana went to a relative’s house in Novato after the crash and Novato police took Bendana into custody around 11:45 a.m.
Bendana was booked in the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run with injury, operating a clandestine hash lab and possession of marijuana for sale.
