LIVERMORE (BCN) — A residential structure fire in Livermore Friday that displaced a man has been deemed accidental by firefighters.
The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded at 5:50 p.m. to the 2700 block of Kennedy Street in reference to a structure fire. Responding firefighters arrived at the single-family home to find light smoke coming from the residence.
Crews were able to enter the residence and extinguish a fire that was in the kitchen within about 10 minutes of arriving at the scene, firefighters said.
Investigators said the homeowner had returned home after being out for several hours and found the house filled with smoke. He left the house and called 911.
The home sustained extensive smoke damage, and the resident made arrangements to stay elsewhere, firefighters said. The damage to the residence was estimated at $20,000. There were no reported injuries in the fire.
