High Wind Advisories Issued For Bay Area Bridges Sunday

BAY AREA (BCN) — High wind advisories remain in effect Sunday morning for the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, the Dumbarton Bridge, the Carquinez Bridge and the Altamont Pass, a mountain pass on Interstate Highway 580, according to the California Highway Patrol.

High wind advisories had been in effect Sunday morning for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, but those have been cancelled, according to the CHP.

An advisory for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge went into effect at 5:37 p.m. Saturday. The advisory for the Altamont Pass went into effect at 6:09 p.m. Saturday, according to CHP. An advisory for the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge went into effect at 2:04 p.m. Saturday, and an advisory went up at the Benicia-Martinez Bridge at 7:46 a.m. Saturday.

High wind advisories for the Dumbarton and Carquinez bridges began at just after midnight Sunday.
