Benicia man arrested after a camera was found in a Starbucks bathroom

WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — A Benicia man was arrested Thursday, accused of hiding a video camera in the bathroom of a Starbucks in Walnut Creek and recording people as they were using the restroom.

Employees at the Starbucks in the 100 block of Locust Street found a video camera hidden in their unisex bathroom back on February 16. They called police and it was determined that the camera had been hidden between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. and had recorded numerous people using the restroom.

Then, on Tuesday employees found another camera hidden in that same bathroom. This time the camera had recorded people using the restroom between 2 and 3 p.m.

Police investigators were able to identify 34-year-old Jacob Walter Turner as their suspect and served an arrest warrant at his home on Oxford Drive in Benicia.

Walnut Creek Police are working to identify the people who were recorded in the restroom.
