BERKELEY (KRON) — A student at the University of California at Berkeley is saying that she was raped at a campus fraternity.
University police said that the alleged assault happened at one of the school’s fraternities and that the victim knew her attacker. The woman has not yet talked to police, so details surrounding the attack are limited.
The woman reported the alleged attack to a campus security authority. That person is a campus employee responsible for student and campus activities under the federal Clery Act. The employee then reported the alleged crime to campus police.
By law, university police are required to report these accusations to the community.
