Crews contain a 3-acre brush fire in Antioch

ANTIOCH (KRON) — Crews with the Contra Costa Fire Protection District were able to contain a brush fire in Antioch Thursday evening.

Crews responded around 5:30 p.m. to a report of a brush fire in the 800 block of Condor Court.

According to CCFPD Fire Marshal Robert Marshall, when firefighters got to the scene, the found the 2-acre fire moving up a hill.

“There was a brief time when the fire threatened homes up there,” Marshall said. “They got in there and were able to extinguish it pretty quickly.”

Fire crews brought the fire under control by 6:10 p.m., Marshall said. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to three acres, he said.

Nobody was hurt in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
