Oakland police ask residents to stay indoors in search for wanted suspect

OAKLAND (KRON) — Oakland police are asking residents to stay indoors as officers move yard-to-yard searching for a wanted suspect who may be armed, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Officers swarmed the neighborhood at Seminary and Sunnymere avenues at around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Police spotted a known parolee who ran away from officers, according to police.

CHP helicopters are assisting in the search, said Oakland Police Department Officer Sylvia McDaniel.

McDaniel said the suspect may be armed.
