ISLA VISTA (KRON) — A lock-down issued after three people were shot near the dorms at University of California, Santa Barbara has been lifted.

Santa Barbara County Fire Dispatch is reporting that just before 7:30 p.m. three people were shot in the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde Court.

According to an alert from University of California, Santa Barbara, authorities say the shooter was driving a white sedan.

The university’s newspaper describes the shooter as a “Hispanic white man.” He was seen driving toward Highway 217.

The paper went on to say that witnesses say two men were robbing a residence on the street and one of the residents fought back, subduing one of the robbers.

Around 9:15 p.m., the Daily Nexus reported that the lock-down had been lifted and one of the suspects was at a nearby hospital.

This shooting was in the Isla Vista area, the same area where Elliot Rodger killed six people and hurt 14 others before killing himself on May 23, 2014.
