MARTINEZ (KRON) — A judge in Contra Costa County’s superior court sentenced a Richmond man to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a trying to kill two people in 2013.
On May 7, 24-year-old Dorian Mathis pleaded guilty to attempted murder and use of a firearm with a gang enhancement.
Police said Mathis is a member of Central Richmond’s “Deep C” gang.
On June 8, 2013 Mathis shot at two people inside a car while they were driving on the 5000 block of Hartnett Avenue in Martinez. Mathis missed, but cause the pair to crash their car.
One of the people in the car originally thought he had been shot, but realized that he had been hit by a shard of glass.
Police were able to identify Mathis as the shooter and arrested him on September 29, 2014.
