Suspect arrested for two commercial burglaries Thursday

PETALUMA (BCN) — Police arrested a Petaluma man on suspicion of committing two commercial burglaries Thursday morning.

Officers responded to an alarm at 2:48 a.m. at the My iPhone Store at 6 Petaluma Blvd. North but found no sign of forced entry and did not realize a burglary had occurred, Lt. Ken Savano said.

A citizen then saw a suspect leave the Computer Repair Shop at 444 Petaluma Blvd. North carrying electronics around 4:11 a.m., Savano said.

The witness confronted the suspect, who threatened to harm him, and the witness fled the area and called police 20 minutes later when he got home, Savano said.

Police responded and Officer Dan Miller found the suspect hiding behind a car near 610 Petaluma Blvd. North, Savano said.

Dean Morgan, 41, of Petaluma, was identified as the suspect in the Computer Repair Shop burglary, and police found property on Morgan that linked him to the burglary at My iPhone Store, Savano said. Morgan was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of the two burglaries and making criminal threats.

Savano said Morgan is not suspected of committing two commercial burglaries that occurred in April in Petaluma.
