Pedestrian airlifted after struck by vehicle in Discovery Bay

DISCOVERY BAY (BCN) – A pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a car near Discovery Bay Saturday morning, according to a sheriff’s spokesman.

Emergency medical personnel responded at 7:08 a.m. to the 2000 block of Largo Court on a report of a medical emergency, East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Chief Hugh Henderson said.

Henderson said the patient was airlifted to the hospital.

The victim was apparently run over by a vehicle, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident.

An update on the victim’s condition was not immediately available.
