Salinas robber gets into victims car, throws up

SALINAS (KRON) — A man escaped an armed robbery without injury in Salinas Monday night, according to police.

The robbery took place around 11:20 p.m. in the first block of California Street, police said.

A 21-year-old man was in his vehicle talking with a friend when a male suspect approached, said he had a gun and demanded the victim’s money, according to police.

The victim told the suspect he had only $20, but the suspect got in the car, sat down in the passenger’s seat and took the victim’s wallet.

The suspect vomited as he left the vehicle, police said.

The suspect fled the area south on California Street towards Market Way.

Police say the suspect is a 6-foot tall Hispanic male who weighs about 240 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
