Gas leak reported on 4-inch line in San Jose

SAN JOSE (KRON) — A construction crew broke a 4-inch gas line in San Jose late Tuesday morning.

The gas line break was initially reported around 11:19 a.m., in the south San Jose area. A fire dispatcher said that the leak happened on Great Oaks Parkway, near Cottle Road. That is adjacent to Caltrain tracks near the Blossom Hill station.

As a precaution, police shut down street in the area. Rail service was also shut down through the area.

PG&E spokesperson Jeff Smith said that by 1:24 p.m., crews had capped the leak.

No injuries were reported as a result of the leak.
