Fremont police arrest prowler attempting to enter woman’s home

FREMONT (KRON) — Police arrested a man in Fremont Thursday on suspicion of prowling and attempted burglary after they found him stalking a Fremont home and allegedly trying to break in.

Police were called to the home near Plumas Way and Bidwell Driver at 5:44 p.m. on reports of a prowler, according to police.

The victim called to report the 28-year-old man who was attempting to get into her house from the backyard.
Officers searched the area around the house, but could not locate a suspect and left.

About 30 minutes later, the victim called for officers again, saying the man was back and hiding in her home’s shed, police said.

Officers returned with K-9 units and searched the area again, this time succeeding in locating the suspect.
The suspect refused to comply and was apprehended by officers and the K-9, according to police.The suspect is a resident of Ripon, police said.

Police have not yet released the identity of the prowler.
