Ella Sogomonian, KRON4 News video journalist, is ecstatic to be back to her native California, this time covering the Bay Area. Growing up in equally eclectic SoCal, she learned to speak four languages: English, Russian, Spanish and Armenian. Ella uses linguistics as another social tool to better connect with all walks of life in each community where she’s lived.
Ella moves to the Bay from Yuma, Arizona where she was Multimedia Journalist by day and anchor-producer by night for the evening newscasts at KECY-TV.
Reporting at the U.S./Mexico border, Ella shared the stories of migrant field workers to highlight the tough work it takes to toil the soil after an hours-long commute from their homes to the fields. She also shed light on where we get the food we eat by unearthing the mystery behind the multi-billion dollar agriculture industry. Ella received awards from the Yuma County Farm Bureau and the Arizona Farm Bureau for her coverage on water conservation, technological advancements, and worker shortages.
Ella is happy to now call the Bay Area her home and looks forward to meeting people who create the diverse fabric of the community. She is excited to scope out the art scene, take in the breathtaking views, and relax at home with her husband and cat Kalista when not reporting.
