Dry conditions have Bay Area firefighters on high alert

MORGAN HILL (KRON) — Tinder dry conditions have firefighters across the Bay Area on high alert.

Temperatures are expected to reach triple digits Thursday.

Fire weather means the action inside Calfire’s emergency command center in Morgan Hill is also heating up. Calfire resources are on the move with one strike team on the fire lines in Markleeville. That means reserves are being called in.

Little or no humidity means the dried out annual grass crop is especially flammable right now, which is why a weed-chopping road crew has a water tanker standing by just in case.
