Fires burn 53-acres in Livermore; fully contained

LIVEMORE (KRON) — Multiple fires burned on Tesla Road in Livermore Thursday afternoon.

The fire burned multiple structures on Tesla Road, east of Greenville Road and just south of Lawrence Livermore Labs. Call came in just after 4 p.m. Thursday. One large structure burned to the ground.

About 53 acres have been burned and it’s now fully contained, according to Alameda County fire. Crews have closed Tesla Road at Greenville Road and Cal Fire has received reports of wires down in the area.

Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire, but it has damaged one home and destroyed a barn, a vehicle and a shipping container, according to Cal Fire.

A Calfire helicopter was on the scene as well. One firefighter was injured working to put out the fire. a Cal Fire official could not immediately provide an update on the seriousness of the injury.
