PLEASANT HILL (KRON) — All BART service has been restored Thursday following a shut down between Lafayette and Concord on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line in both directions.
The shutdown was due to a tree limb falling on a PG&E power line near the Walnut Creek station. Crews cleared the fallen power line at around 8:15 p.m.
BART initially sent out an alert to passengers about a suspension of service between Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek due to an equipment problem at 6:23 p.m., but later expanded the shutdown.
Several power outages were reported in the area. As of 10 p.m. Thursday, 323 PG&E customers were without power.
