Officials won’t say how man was killed in gun club parking lot

CONCORD (KRON) — Contra Costa County sheriff’s office has identified the man who died from a gunshot wound outside of shooting range near Concord Wednesday afternoon.

64-year-old Robert Pohl of Alamo, was found at 4:41 p.m. suffering a gunshot wound to the chest in the parking lot of United Sportsmen Inc. at 4700 Elora Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The autopsy was conducted this morning. The cause of death is listed as gunshot wound to the chest,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
