RICHMOND (KRON) — The death of a 30-year-old woman who was found floating in the water near Richmond last Thursday is now considered suspicious, an East Bay Regional Park District police lieutenant said today.
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office today identified her as Berkeley resident Katherine Gravett.
Police received reports of a body floating around 12:35 p.m. near the shoreline at Point Isabel Regional Park in Richmond, according to police.
The body was found on the rocks behind the East Bay Municipal Utility District Wet Weather Treatment Plant on Isabel Street.
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office is investigating the cause of death, and how the body ended up in the water.
