24-year-old man killed in Monterey County rollover crash identified

MONTEREY COUNTY — A 24-year-old Victorville man was killed in a crash off southbound U.S. Highway 101 near Prunedale in Monterey County on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

He was identified today as Cody Olsen, according to the Monterey County coroner’s office.

Around 6 p.m. Friday, the man was driving a red 1994 Isuzu on Highway 101 south of state Highway 156 where the vehicle left the roadway, rolled over and struck a metal pole, CHP officials said.

The car came to rest on its wheels in a parking lot, according to the CHP.

The 24-year-old man was transported by ambulance to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas where he was pronounced dead, CHP officials said.

Investigators have not determined if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the CHP.
