SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Being a sanctuary city clearly comes with controversy whether in San Francisco or any other city in the United States.
Kevin Ryan is a former U.S. attorney and now a professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Ryan worked in Mayor Gavin Newsom’s office. In 2007, he announced the city of San Francisco would not cooperate with federal immigration raids in keeping with a sanctuary city policy adopted in 1989.
Ryan sits down with KRON 4’s Catherine Heenan, who asks if there some misgivings and why.
