Victim in San Jose 4th of July stabbing identified

SAN JOSE — A man fatally stabbed in San Jose on the Fourth of July was identified today as 52-year-old Russell Hall, a police spokesman said.

At about 5:10 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a man stabbed in the first block of North King Road near Alum Rock Avenue, police Officer Albert Morales said.

Arriving officers found the man, later identified as Hall, suffering from at least one stab wound, according to Morales.

Hall was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Morales said.

Hall was a San Jose resident, according to police.

No suspect information was available and no arrests had been made in the case as of this morning, he said.

Police do not know if Hall and the suspect knew each other, according to Morales.
