OAKLAND (KRON) — A huge windfall for the Oakland Unified School District, an anonymous donor has given the district $6 million, as well as $28 million to other Oakland agencies.
District officials said the gift will make an enormous difference in many lives.
Oakland schools spokesman Troy Flint said the multi-million dollar grant just given to kids in Oakland will help them. And it is not just Oakland schools directly benefiting from the cash.
The total grant is $34 million. That money will go toward various Oakland agencies that will also benefits kids and families.
The San Francisco foundation is managing the large-scale investment, but all the district knows is that it came from an anonymous East Bay donor.
