PITTSBURG (KRON) — Several pallets collapsed in an early morning structure fire, with explosions reported near Industrial Road and Harbor Street in Pittsburg, according to Contra Costa Fire.
The two-alarm blaze was reported around 3 a.m., and up to 1/4 acre burned, according to police.
Contra Costa Fire officials tweeted at 3:53 a.m. that the fire was under control. Fire officials are still on scene extinguishing any hotspots.
The fire department said the slabs of wood have plenty of space between them, allowing oxygen to spread the flames. Over 1500 pallets burned.
According to a fire official, there were no injuries reported. No one was working in the buildings when the fire started.
KRON 4 has a live report coming up at the top of the hour.
