MODESTO (KRON) — Police have released new information about a person of interest in connection with Saturday’s murders in Modesto.
Five people were found dead in a home on the 2600 block of Nob Hill Court after someone called authorities to check on the people inside, police said Saturday.
Officers responding to a request to conduct a welfare check on the home, in a suburban neighborhood in Modesto, discovered the bodies at about 3:30 p.m., police spokeswoman Heather Graves said.
“We found five people deceased inside,” said Heather Graves, a police spokeswoman. “It’s still early. We don’t know how” they died, “but we are investigating it as a murder.”
Graves described the victims as three children and two adults. Their identities have not been released at this time.
A person of interest sought in the investigation has been identified as 30-year-old Martin Martinez. He could be driving a red 2000 Lincoln Navigator with license plate 7CNN611.
